Resolved, That we respectfully suggest to the Executive Committed tbo propriety of selecting SaKsbary as th-ptace, and the second Wednesday February as the tune for liotding said Conveotion. Itesolved, That we regard the present resources of North Carolina abundantly suflfi-cient underprudent management to'discharge all her indebtedness and to prosecote a.nd complete any advisable and necessary work of internal Improvement, contemplated jn different sections of the State. We therefore call 'updn our brethren in the differeut sections of the State to come forward and redeem hon estly and ia good faith the pledges heretofore made upon this sulject to the democracy of theAVest. a meeting of tiro Democracy of the county of Polk, in the town of Columbuson FriiaV tbe 11th of December, on motion of Dr. Columbus D. Thompson Sims, was called the Chair, and George J. Mills, requested to act as Secretary. Dr.

Columbus Mills explained the object of the meeting to be to appoint delegates to attend tbe next State Democratic Convention, and in Cooclusion offered the followinir Resolved, That as the time is apptoachincr when it will become" necessary, for the Democratic party of State to nominate a "candidate for Governor, this meeting respectfully suggests that a Convention of delegates for that purpose be hbld in the town of Salisbury on Wednesday xf the 2d week in February next i Resolved, That the Chairman of this meeting be requested to appoint twelve delegates to represent the Democracy of this county in said Convention.
