A native of Binghamton, N.Y., he was a veteran of World War II. He was a son of the late Sherwood and Donna McKenzie Snyder. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge. An investigation continued Sunday into the armed robbery Saturday night of the Plaza Theater on Pack Square, according to the Asheville Police Department. At about 10 p.m. Saturday, a man carrying a small-caliber automatic handgun entered the theater and robbed four employees while they were counting the days receipts in the office, police reports said. The robber was wearing a stocking over his head as a mask, reports said.

After the man had taken the money, he had the employees bind themselves with tape he had brought with him. The employees were put into a broom closet and told to stay there, reports said. The robber left on foot with approximately $4,500, reports said. He was last seen running down North Lexington Avenue. Police officers searched the streets and bars around Pack Square Saturday night, but no arrests were made.

There were no injuries in the incident. The robber was described as a white male in his early 20s, 5 feet 10 Inches to 6-feet tall, with blond hair and moustache and possibly a beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a maroon jacket. Cruiser In Accident A Buncombe County Sheriffs Department cruiser was involved in a minor accident Sunday night in Bilt-more, according to the Asheville Police Department. He had been a member of the UNC faculty since 1968 and served on several university and professional comittees. Gelblum was born in Aberdeen, S.D., and grew up in Wallingford, Conn. After graduating from Wesleyan University in 1943 and from Harvard Law School in 1948, he held several legal and executive positions in private industry before joining the UNC law faculty.
