Department of Human Resources stating that hulled-in space could not be approved at the state or federal level. The hospital also requested to reduce its proposed bed plan to 45 after learning the state will allow only 45 more acute care beds in Region B. Due to the changes in the project, it was the required to be resubmitted to Project Review Committee for another review. In an effort to eliminate any unnecessary delay of the project, the governing body approved the revised project, contingent on a favorable recommendation by the Project Review Committee during Wednesday's meeting. The original project was expected to cost $18.6 million, but the cost has been reduced by about $1,200.000 by eliminating the hu space and reducing the bed plan.
