Take good care of your BAB CHOOSING A DOCTOR OR PEDIATRICIAN Are you comfortable with his answers? Check his certification is he Board Certified by your state? Is he credentialed with the hospital you will be using? How 1 long has he been practicing, where did he go to school? Are his hours location convenient for you? How will emergencies be handled? Does he have a physician on call? Is the office pleasant, the nursing staff adequate? Is there a well-child waiting area seperate from that for ill children? Finally, take a look around the waiting room do the children, on the whole, appear reasonably comfortable, or do they seem fearful? With a little time forethought, you'll find a doctor with whom you your baby are happy. One of your first steps should be to call your local hospital, or check the Yellow Pages, for the number of a physicians' referral service.

According to Ask-A-Nurse (a service of St. Joseph's Hospital), you should consider several points when looking for a physician. It's a good idea to set-up an appointment before the baby is born; talk to the doctor. Do you like him personally? Does he seem interested willing to talk to you, or does he appear hurried abrupt? What will he expect of you your baby: when will he start solid foods, how does he approach toilet training, does he advise routine circumcision, Kiddies Band Box INC.
