REVELS ASHEVILLE O.G. Revels, 88, of 117 Vance March 27, 2001, Mr. Revels Spartanburg, the late Robert Anna McBee 0.G. Revels 0.G. Revels Crescent Extension, died at his residence.

was born in S.C., and was a son of Shelton and Rosa Revels. He was married to Anna Mae Poteat Revels, who died in 1989, and was also preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters. He was a former resident of Aiken, S.C., and was retired from textiles in South Carolina. In Asheville he was a member of the Singles Club and Grace Baptist Church and the Hugh Hensley Sunday School Class. Surviving are a daughter, Jody Grose and her husband Hoyle of Asheville; a son, Jack W.

Revels and his wife Joyce of Daphne, six grandchildren, Marsha Joyner, Jan Martindale, Phyllis Cortner, Jackie Hinson, Jennifer Delaney and Chris Revels; and four dchildren. The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. J.

Derrill Smith officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. SUZANNE TIMACHEFF FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. Suzanne Elias Timacheff died March 23, 2001, in Ft. Lauderdale. She was a native of Asheville and wife of the late Nicholas Timacheff.

She is survived by a son, Serge Timacheff of Issaquah, and three brothers, Andrew Elias Colfax, Asheville and William Bernard Elias Elias of Atlanta. The graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery in Asheville. The Rev. Tom Hughes Trinity Episcopal Church will officiate.

He was born in Greenwood County, S.C., to the late R.P Maxwell, Stallworth Henderson. He was married to the late Annette Moorhead Henderson. He studied at the University of Georgia and Clemson University and was a U.S. Army Air Corps vetT. Caldwell eran of World War II.

in Rosman, was a former school bus driver for Jackson County Schools and a member of Charlie's Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Owen was the daughter of the late Lester Bates and was also preceded in death by a brother, Lester Bates and a half-brother, Dickie Roberts. Surviving are her husband, Arvol the home; a son, Bobby Owen of Tuckasegee; two daughters, Galloway of Tuckasegee and Janet Davis of Sylva; her mother, Flonnie Bates of Tuckasegee; three brothers, James Bates of Tuckasegee, the Rev. John Bates and Larry Bates of Pickens, S.C.; half brother, Willard Bates of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sisters, Juanita Hoxit of Tuckasegee and Martha Goins of Cleveland, half sister, Jamae Owenby of Murphy; and seven grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Charlie's Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Hoxit and John Bates officiating. Burial will be at Bates Cemetery. Wednesday at Sossoman Funeral Home. JEWEL M. JOHNSON ASHEVILLE Jewel Maria Johnson of 24 John St. died Friday, March 23, School, attended UNC at Chapel Hill, Appalachian State, and Shaw University. She also traveled to Madrid, Spain, for study.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her brothers, Mark A. Johnson and 2001. A lifelong resident of Asheville, she was a daughter of the Rev. Clydell Asheville. and She Pearl was Sligh a graduate Johnson of Asheville High Jewel Johnson Jewel Johnson Everette K.

Johnson, both of Asheville; simaternal, grandmother, C. Lexington; aunts, uncles, a niece and cousins. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, The Rev.

Wednesday at 36 Cumberland Ave. Arrangements are under direction of Hart Funeral Service. BUD JOHNS WAYNESVILLE Arnold Earl Johns, 83, died March 27, 2001. He was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Brookville, to the late Samuel and Alta Johns.

He was general manager of the school supply division of Union Camp, was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during World War II, a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, former the Village Trader and volunteered at the Red Cross. He loved Waynesville and he was a regular visitor for coffee at Smith's Drugs. He adored his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Rubye Beamer Johns; his son-in-law, Gordon Bond, who preceded him exactly four years ago; brothers and a sister.

He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Bond of Auburn, a son, Arnold E. Johns Jr. and his wife Missy of Atlanta; a brother, Ivan Johns of Brookville, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville with the Rev.

CARROLL BURNSVILLE Lewis V. Carroll, 60, of Upper Browns Creek, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at the home of his daughter, Donna Wright, in Swannanoa. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Will and Ida Bell Robinson Carroll. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid bear hunter and a member of Bill Gibbs Hunting Club for many years.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Wright and husband Larry of Swannanoa and Peggy Davis and husband Willie of Old Fort, and five grandchildren, Adam, Caitlin and Travis Wright of Swannanoa and Bridgette Cline and Barbara Waycaster of Marion. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Wilson, 48, went to be with Jesus on Monday, March 26, 2001, at UNC Hospital after an extended illness. She was born July 10, 1952. She joined her parents, Dee and Christine Wilson in heaven. She leaves behind a family she adored; two brothers.

and their wives, Jim and Sandy Wilson of Brevard and Bill and Carolyn Wilson of Danville, aesister and her husband with whom she had lived with for five and a half years, Luanne and Tony Tingle of Pisgah Forest; her favorite nephew and nieces, Dee Wilson of Charlotte, Kristin Wilson of Brevard, Kathleen Wilson of Danville, and Jillian Tingle of the home; and many special people her aunts and uncles, cousins too numerous to count, two loving church families of Grace Baptist Church and Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, other Christian family and her special friends at Life Skills and TVS. Everyone that met Jeannie loved her and she loved them. Jesus said that the two most important commandments were that we love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. She lived these commandments with a pure loving heart. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

Thursday at Grace Baptist Church. The Revs. Jimmy Fanning, Tommy Owen and Wayne Sorrells officiate. The graveside services will follow in Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

Broadus Blaine Emory, 86, died March 24, 2001. He was a native of Mars Hill, a former resident of Etowah and had retired from Olin Corp.

in Pisgah Forest. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. EARL MASHBURN WAYNESVILLE Emerson Earl "Friday" Mashburn, 74, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Mission St. Joseph's Health System.

He was born April 15, 1926, in Haywood County where he resided all his life. His father was the late Emmett Harvey Mashburn, a native of Macon County who died in McDowell County in 1969. His mother was the late Margretta Smiley Mashburn, a native of Haywood County who died in McDowell County in 1986. Earl served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World Il.

He 1 worked at Wellco -Search from 1942 until his retirement in 1992. He continued to work part time until last year. a charter member of East Waynesville Baptist Church which was organized in 1953. He had served as a deacon, Sunday school director and of adult men's Sunday school for many teacher, years. Earl is survived by his wife, Ada Coffey Mashburn, with whom he had been married since June 29, 1946; son, Emmett Jerome "E.J." and his wife Bonnie of Asheville; his daughter, Margaret and her husband Marvin Burnette; granddaughter, Emily Mashburn; and grandson, "Jay" Emmett Jerome Mashburn Jr.

and his wife Rebecca, all of Waynesville. Earl was the oldest of his family. He is survived by two brothers, Jim Mashburn of Glen Alpine and Harvey Mashburn and his. wife Hazel of Morganton; six sisters, Dorothy Buchanan of Morganton, Gladys Bowen of Marion, Hazel Mashburn of Glen Alpine, Thelma and her husband Alex: Morton of Glen Alpine, Geneva and her husband Charlie Penson of Bostic and Sharon Crisp of Glen Alpine; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

Thursay at East Waynesville Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Presnell, Claude Conard, G.H. Shope and Greg Murphy officiating. Special music will be provided by East Waynesville Baptist Church Quartet and the Rev. Greg Murphy.

Wilder was a native of Shelby County, and the son the late Daniel Hosea and Martha Douglas He was the devoted husband of Dolores Allen Wilder and devoted father of Marte Wilder.
