CHEE ST BRIAN KEITH TAYLOR HENDERSONVILLE Brian Keith Taylor, formerly of Big Stone Gap, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, from injuries sustained in an accident.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents; Goldie (Phillips) Dotson and Kermit Dotson and Lavonia (Flores) and Eugene Taylor. He is survived by his parents, Lorene (Dotson) and Charles John Gudger of Fletcher and Clarence Brian Keith Taylor (Toots) Taylor of Big Stone Gap, brothers, Charles John Gudger Jr. and his daughter, Kyleigh Dirks, of Fletcher, Adam Taylor and his daughter, Audrey, of Big Stone Gap, one sister, Cynthia (Gudger) Bradley, her husband, Richard and their son, Sabbath Zwiercan of Hendersonville; and aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends. Brian was known to those who loved him as the little boy with the big heart: he loved people, he loved dogs, he loved. He had a loving heart and God looks at our hearts.

Brian didn't run a country, he didnt run a company. He didn't do what most would consider to be great things. He didn't get much notice at all, however, he did run a race, the same race we all must run. As David the psalmist said, concerning the death of his son, after David had sinned with Bathsheba, I can't bring him back but I can go to him. That is our hope, that we will be with Brian in Heaven some day.

As we all do, Brian struggled daily just to live in a world that was only a temporary home. In his short life, he had obstacles to overcome that most of us will never face. On occasion he would express his belief in God and would say, If it weren't for God I would not have gotten through it. This little boy with the big heart grew up. His heart stayed soft pliable.

He was helpful, artistic and talented. He could make a beat up, worn out, ugly piece of furniture into a beautiful, valuable, desirable piece for use in a home (sort of like what God does with us). He could take a rusted out, broken down, abandoned piece of cast off junk of a car and transform it into a useful, beautiful, desirable vehicle. God in his mercy does this same thing for us and he saw in Brian beautiful heart, that hidden part that the world couldn't see. His life was meaningful.

His death was appointed. He was once struggling in this temporary home. He is now at peace in a home prepared for him by our Savior. has been transformed by the Master. He has been relieved of his struggles and now rejoices.

These words of Psalm 12 speak of Brian. David calls to God: "Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men." God responds: "For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arrive. I will set him in safety from him that puffeth up." A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, Va. with the Rev.

Jonah Ray Shoop officiating. Burial will follow at American Legion Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, Va. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Asheville-Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), 30 Cumberland Asheville, NC 28801. They were especially helpful to Brian in his time of need.
