4 Minutes A Day By JAMES KELLER Finding $70.000 in a vacant lot was big surprise that greeted the operator of a bulldozer. He came upon the hidden treasure 10 inches below the top soil of the area he was clearing for an industrial development. When the blade of his machine struck something hard and metallic, he got out to investigate. He discovered he had hit an old ammunition box, containing more than $70.000 in cash. Bills of 100, 50, 20 and 10 dollar demoniations were neatly wrapped in 31 small packets.

near Pack Sq. Fergusons Celebrate 60 Years The Rev. and Mrs. W. Forest Ferguson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at the old family homeplace in Lower Crabtree Sunday, Aug.

28. The Rev. Mr. Ferguson is a retired Baptist minister after having served many churches in Haywood County during the last 60 years. He receives more invitations to preach each week at homecomings and to fill pulpits than he is able to accept.

He is a direct descendant of the Annie Laurie of the Scottish poem. His sister, Mrs. Precious Campbell, was present at the anniversary celebration and said. "Forest, 60 years ago today cooked your 'in-fare' dinner, when you brought your bride home, and served it in this room." The Fergusons are both members of pioneer families in Haywood County. Hundreds of people in that section fondly address them as "Aunt Ada" and "Uncle Forest." They will be 80 years old before the falling of the winter snows.

Mrs. Ferguson's birthday is Oct. 5 and the Rev. Mr. Ferguson's is Nov.

degree from Georgetown University, Washington, D. and a masters degree in law from Columbia University, New York City. He also attended the Uni. versity of Lisbon, Portugal. Mr.
