She was a lifelong resident of Swain County and retired from the Swain County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frank G. Case.

Surviving are a son, Lewis Case of Bryson City; a daughter, Mrs. Bedell Greene of Lexington: tw.i sisters, l.ela McLean of Bo-lair, W.Va., and Eva Justice of Belmont; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Holly Springs Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev.

Leland Greene will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Duncan, a Franklin civic leader and businessman, died Monday in a Franklin hospital following a period of declining health. He was 66.

A director of First Union Bank in Franklin and past president of the Bank of Franklin, he was owner of Franklin Realty Company and was vice chairman of Ihe Franklin Industrial Development Committee. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Born in Stephens County, and a son of the late Cross M. and Texie Busha Stowe, he attended Young-Harris College and graduated from Mars Hill College and Baylor Univeristy. He pastored Baptist churches in Texas and Cherokee and Clay counties for 40 years. A retired teacher, he taught 25 years in the Cherokee County school system.

Stowe was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Copper Basin Masonic Lodge 222 AF AM in Ducktown. Tenn. Surviving are his wife, Irene Kisselburg Stowe; a daughter, Sandra Bates of Caracas, Venezuela: a son. Dr. Lester L.

Born in Swain County and a resident of Clay County from 1912 until retiring to Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Salie Rogers Miller and the wife of Early Anderson who died in 1952. A graduate of Old Davenport College in Lenior, she was a former teacher in the Clay County school system.

Surviving are two daughters, Sally Jo Warren of Asheville and Betty Olive of Radcliff, three sons. Early L. Anderson Jr. of Ilayesville, Kermit M. Anderson of Creswell, and Hugh R.

Anderson of Ashe-boro; two brothers, Hubert S. Miller of San Jose, and William J. Miller of Truro, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ilayesville First United Methodist Church, of which she was a member and former Sunday School teacher.

Mildred Orr BREVARD Mildred Green Orr, 50.of Hannah Ford Road, died Sunday in a Brevard hospital. Horn in Madisonville, and a resident of Transylvania County most of her life, she was a daughter of Keturah Galloway Green of Rosman and the lale Cecil L. Green. She was employed by Brevard Insurance Agency. Surviving in addition lo her mother are her husband, Roy G.

Orr; a daughter, Brenda Brock of llendersonville; two sons, Wayne Orr of Brevard and Jeff Orr of the home; four sisters, Helen Blair of Etowah, Ruth Rice of Rock Hill, S.C., Ruby Green and Lillie Mae Galloway of Rosman; three brothers, Fred Green of Lenoir City, Dwight and Robert Green of Rosman; and two granddaughters. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and Sunday School teacher. The Rev. Duncan Futrelle will officiate.

Hall, 76, of Sandycove, County Dublin, Ireland, and a frequent visitor to Waynesville, who died Sunday in Ireland. Hall was a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and had researched the history of Irish banking. He was the author of "The History of The Bunk of Ireland," and was an accountant. Survivors include his wife, Joan Eason Hall; a son, Graham Hall of the home; and two brothers. Jack Hall of Natal.

A native of Michigan and a resident of Madison County over 60 years, she was a daughter of the lute Michael and Teofillia Jamis-zewski Radke. Survivors include a brother, Frank C.

A native of Clay County and a former resident and teacher in Haywood County, she hud resided in Buncombe County for 63 years. She was a charter member of Abernethy United Methodist Church. She was a member of Grand International Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. She was daughter of the late Wesley V. and Marlha Full-bright Robinson.

Surviving are her husband, Charles L. Epley two daughters, Louise Wallen of Asheville and Frances Young of Lincoln-ton; two sons, Charles L. Epley Jr. of Asheville and Kenneth Epby of Brevard; a sister, Willie 3. Free of Clyde; a brother, Gurley Robinson of Canton; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home. The Rev. Giles Bowman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

She was the wife of Charles Thomas House who died in 1972, and a daughter of the late William A. and Cora Lee Sutton Manning.

A native of Dan-dridge, she retired from Terry Co. She was a member of Golden Circle Sunday School Class. Surviving are two daughters, Viola Harris and Hilda Robinson of Asheville; a son, Charles T. House Jr. of Asheville; two sisters, Julia llendrix of Asheville and Cartella Bush of Weaverville; a brother, Floyd L.

John Conynglon BRYSON CITY John Conyngton, 83, of Bryson City, died Monday in a Black Mountain nursing home fol lowing a period of declining health.

A native of Maryland and a veteran of World War he was a member of Steve Youngdeer American Legion Post and was active In the Boy Scouts of America, lie was also a member of Rotary International and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He had served as farm agent with the Cherokee Indian Reservation and was a former agent for the Department of Agriculture in Rockingham and Swain counties. He was a retired teacher for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Cherokee. Memorials services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.

Janice Henry HENDERSONVILLE -Janice Henry of Silo Square, Lewisburg, W.Va., formerly of llendersonville, died Sunday in a llendersonville hospital after a long illness. A native of Trenton, N.J., she was a daughter of Margaret Murphy Coleman of Trenton and the late Clifford Coleman. Surviving In addition lo her mother are her husband, Dr. Francis P. An investigation continued Monday into several acts of weekend vandalism reported al the Grove Arcade Federal Building. According to Federal Protective Service officers, at least five unlocked offices were entered with minor "disruptive" damage reported to each. Bookcases were overturned, desk tops were raked over, glass was broken and telephones were ripped from wall connections.

Two federal employees reported hearing a loud crash in the building about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, just before seeing an unidentified man running from the building. City authorities searched the building for a possible bomb and found smashed glass and overturned bookcases. Additional damage was discovered during further building checks. Officer Steve Emory said no motive other than vandalism was suspected in the incidents.

"This appears lo be a case of pure vandalism," Emory said. "We really won't know a reason until we find out who did it." No arrests had been reported late Monday. Martha White WAYNESVILLE Martha Godwin While of 107 Balsam Road died Sunday in a Haywood County hospital. A native of Tennessee and a resident of Waynesvillc for 55 years, she was a daughter of the late Oscar E. and Nora Beltis Godwin and the wife of Clifford C. White, who died in 1957. She was a member of Wynesville First United Methodist Church.

Kinston and Smith-field are among 11 described as "problem homes" by the Stale Auditor's Office, the Department of Human Resources said. A reMrl released last week by the Auditor's Office criticized DIIR's Division of Facility Services for leniency in enforcing slate and federal regulations. It cited the problem homes as examples. Representatives of several of the homes said conditions had improved substantially since discovery of the deficiencies that formed Ihe basis of the audit.
