At a meeting Monday afternoon the board failed to approve the plan explaining that several teachers in the high schools do extra work besides their teaching and that if any one teacher wa paid for these activities It would be discriminating against the others. The club projKwed to raise money to employ a part-time ooach for lha high schools. Members of the eth-U'tlc committee of tho club were advised of the school board's action. At the meeting Monday R. H.

Latham, superintendent of schoolfl, was authorized by the board to make any neoetsary transfer of teachers in the city system. Reynolds, president of Bllt-more Junior college, has received an announcement from Martin Freeman, of the committee on scholarships of the University of Chicago, stating that competitive examinations for scholarships at the university are to be hold at a group of Junior colleges.

A total of seven full scholarships yielding tuition of 300 and 20 yielding half tuition or $15o are to be given by the university for the academic year 1031-36 to graduates ol junior college).
