Chapman is also president of the Great Smoky Mountains Conservation association and has long been a leader In the park movement. The park museum committee was organized several mouths ago for two main reasons; (1) To collect and preserve n-llca and objects ly-fure they are lost, and (3) to hir.e a collection ready to pluco In the museum building where It Is constructed.

Tho committee grup have been active for some time and to date have received a considerably number of donations and promises of many more. Travel is detoured over Highway No. 10 to Martin's Creek and thence over the Little Br ass town route to Brass-town, adding ubout six miles of extra travel. However, only a few days remain until work will be completed on the highway. Work on highway No. 28 on Shooting Creek will be completed within 1q or 15 days of good weather.

When this Is done the highway will be completed the entire distance through clay county. George Pritchard To Be Heard In Marshall MARSHALL, Oct. 27. (Special James M. Baley, chairman of the Young Republican club of Madison county, has announced that the club will sponsor a Republican rally to be held In the courthouse here at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 3.

Mr. Erwln responded In a brief talk, saying his chief concern now is the welfare of the children of North Carolina. Ralner church, where 'die resided until 20 years of age when she was married to John D. McCurry. They established their home in the Golden Valley section of Rutherford county. Prior to her marriage she was Miss Polly Epley. Mr.

and Mrs. McCurry had four children, Mrs. John Blankenshlp, of Uiirka county; "Targ" McCurry, of Iitncolnton; D. McCurry, of Golden Valley, with whom "Aunt Polly" makes her home, and J. W.

McCurry, deceased. Shortly after their marriage, Mrs. McCurry 's husband enlisted in tho Confederate army, becoming a member of Company 60th Regiment, North Carolina troops, and for about four years fought for tho Confederacy. "Aunt Polly" was originally a member of the Methodist church, but upon moving to this county Joined the First broad Baptist church, of which she has since been a member.
